NEW!! Project-Mu Brake Pad Shims

Brake squeal is a very high frequency vibration in your brake system. The noise is created when the pad ‘vibrates’ against the pistons or pad abutment plates when you apply pressure to the brake pedal. It normally only occurs when using light pedal pressure such as pulling up at the lights. It is very common in most vehicles so car manufacturers commonly fit shims pad backplates to reduce the vibration tranferring to the caliper, therefore reducing noise.

Some cars are more prone to squeal than others and Mitsubishi Evo’s with the standard Brembo brake package for example are known to squeal. Project-Mu have released an aftermarket shim for Project-Mu pads for Evo along with STi (Brembo 4 and 2 pot), WRX, S15, GTR (Sumitomo 4 and 2 pot) as well as the Project-Mu 4pot/4pad caliper kits.
