Bathurst 12 Hour Success for Project-Mu
In recent years Project Mu have firmly established themselves as World leaders in Endurance Brake Pad technology. The Bathurst 12 Hour race last weekend was one of many successful forays into the endurance racing field. From the famous 24hr races at Nurburgring, Dubai and Tokachi to the 12 hour events in Sepang and Bathurst, Project Mu have supplied brake pads to winning teams more than any other supplier in the last few years.
Last weekend, Project Mu pads were in 6 of the top 10 finishing cars, and not one of them needed a pad change! Congratulations to Team Mitsubishi Ralliart on a fantastic 1-2 result for the second year running.
Well done also to Steve Owen and the Koundouris Bros for banging a newly completed Evo 9 on pole position on Saturday afternoon by a whole 1.8 seconds! Great effort.
As well as the feature race, Tony Quinn took out the first round of the 2009 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge on the weekend at the Mountain - also using Project Mu brake pads. Well done to Tony and the VIP Petfoods team.

Hynes wins WA Rally Championship using Project Mu
RMS Service Centre proprietor and rally driver Leigh Hynes along with co-driver Stuart Percival have collected enough points in the final round of the 2008 WA Rally Championship to win the title.
“What a way to end the season” Hynes said “That was one of the most exhausting and stressful rallies I’ve done. We were sitting very comfortable in second with only two stages to go and then before you know it we were struggling to stay in the top six due to a broken wheel”.
Leigh and Stuart went on to finish the event and post a result the follows on from his last round outright victory and Leigh has passed on high praise for his Project-Mu brake pads.
“I use the standard WRX braking system and with these pads I get the same pedal feel and consistency the whole stage even when the discs are glowing red! I have never had such good brakes in a rally car - seriously”.
Congratulations to Leigh, Stuart and the entire RMS Service Centre Team on an outstanding result.

The busiest Club Competitor in the Country…?
Neville Scott must be one of the busiest men around.. he’s head chef at Brisbane’s La Quinta Mexican Restaurant and somehow manages to take his GC8 WRX out for around 20 competitions a year. Neville competes in events ranging from Aust motorkhana titles, Hillclimb, Interclub Challenges, Sprint events and has run around 75 of these club and national events in the last 4 years. Not only this, the WRX is his daily form of transport! Neville is the current WRX Club Qld Motorsport Champion - a tille he also won in 2006.
Recently Neville purchased a Project-Mu 4 pot / 4 pad SLIM front brake kit and has been over the moon with performance.
“After fitting the new brake package I attended the Mt Cotton hillclimb and was extremely impressed at the performance of the Project Mu brakes. I was able to take .97 sec off my previous best time and I now have the fastest road registered WRX ever at Mt Cotton with a time of 45.57!” Neville commented.
The Australian Hillclimb Championships to be held at Mt Panorama, Bathurst is the next big event for Neville so keep an eye out for him. Good Luck Nifty!

Hi Octane GTR’s running Project-Mu pads
Mark Berry and Russell Newman are well known for their awsome Hi Octane R32 GTR that has terrorised track days, Superlap, sprints and more for a few years now.
This car runs Project-Mu’s H16-03 up front and HC+ in the back and Mark recently commented “Those pads were one of the biggest bolt-on improvements we made with that car”. Pretty impressive from a team who spent plenty on making that car into the rocketship it is!
The R32 has now now been sold and new projects are on the go. Mark is in the build process of an R34 and Russell is about to debut his stunning new R35 GTR in the Tarmac Challenge in Tasmania on October 3-5 . Russell picked up some brand new Project-Mu pads prior to going to Tassie so we’re all looking forward to following his progress.
Good luck fella’s.

Congratulations Sven!!
Sven Burchartz has won the inaugural GT3 Cup Challenge driving his Project-Mu equiped 996 GT3 Cup - with the final round still to be run!
The last round Symmons Plains saw Sven complete a clean sweep of qualifying and races 1,2 and 3.
“Symmons is notoriously hard on brakes so I really felt my pads gave me that extra confidence to push as hard as I liked. In Tassie, thats a real advantage”.
Well done to Sven and all the team.
